At our heart, The Creative Toolbox aims to embrace the positive impact of creativity on our mental health.
We understand that the creative process - whether through drawing , writing, music, drama, clay, sculpting, dance or movement - is a powerful took for exploring and processing our emotions and experiences that are often too hard to convey in the words.
With an early focus on school aged children, the late educator Sir Ken Robinson addressed the importance of nurturing creativity in his iconic TED talk, “Do Schools Kill Creativity?”. He lamented how traditional education system often stifle rather than cultivate our innate creative capacities, despite ample evidence demonstrating the pivotal role of creation in fostering innovation, cognitive growth, and academic success.

At The Creative Toolbox, our mission is clear - to equip individuals with the resources and skills to infuse more creativity into their lives, both professionally and personally.
Why? Because we know mental health stats are getting worse, we know there are buckets of evidence supporting the benefits of creative arts therapy but also complementing other psychological therapies. We also know that experts such as Brene Brown are working with big Fortune 500 companies to help their employees thrive with new ideas and innovation through their creativity. Brown states "The only unique contribution that we will ever make in this world will be born of our creativity".
Our creative learning modules are designed to empower us to explore different creative modalities and discover what resonates with each of us. For me it is writing, for my eldest daughter it is through music, and for my other two kids it is through art. By filling our metaphorical “creative toolboxes" with lifelong skills, we aim to provide everyone with invaluable tools to navigate life’s challenges and support our mental health.
We plan on launching several series of the Creative Toolbox targeting different age groups. Launching with our kids series first - these 6 modules introduce 5-8 year olds to the creative arts and mediation. Find out more here. (Link to the modules). And then we have the tweens, teens and adult series all to be launched over the next year. Sign up to our newsletter or connect with us on our socials for updates on these.
