Creative arts therapy relies on the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. It also enters into the clinical space of mental health which needs different levels of support. The Creative Toolbox sits at the preemptive educational end. We believe that learning about the therapeutic benefits of the creative arts modalities and integrating these practices into our lives is a preventive measure that will help protect our mental health.
YES! One positive outcome of COVID was the shift to digital platforms for schoolwork, courses, therapy, and more. Research has shown that despite the changes, the creative process remains beneficial, especially through the lens of creative arts therapy. It’s a reminder that creativity can thrive even in challenging times!
No the learning modules are an educational resource and not therapy. The thinking behind The Creative Toolbox is based on creative arts therapy but the modules are not therapy. Therapy should always be with a registered creative arts therapist. We are launching with the kids series which is targeting 5-8 year olds. We also have a tweens, teens, and adults series on the roadmap and we hope to launch these over the next year.
Yes, you can work on the series at your own pace. We have set the programme up so that you will need to work through each module one at a time, but how quickly you do them is up to you. This is not a race though, it is more important for you to enjoy the process and block out some time to really have some fun with the exercises.
